Here are some quick, simple ways to get one.

Slow down and focus on your breathing. Count ‘one’ to yourself as you exhale. The next time you exhale, count ‘two,’ and so on up to ‘five.’

Stay offline in the evenings.

Take fun seriously
Make time for a hobby, for messing around with your kids or for watching a good comedy.

Screen saver
Opticians recommend that every 20 minutes, we look 20ft away for 20 seconds. Find a window with a nice view for best effect.

Me time
Swim for 30 minutes.

Cloud watch
Something we all did as kids –spotting shapes in the clouds above us. Try it again for a few minutes and you’ll feel the benefit.

Do the unexpected
Break up your routine. Try a different route to work and take in the new surroundings as you go (a change is as good as a rest)!

Bare all
Go make-up free for a day to let your skin breathe.

One good deed
An act of kindness is never wasted. Go out of your way to do something nice, whether for someone you love or a stranger.
